Closer
Everyone who has taken up photography has heard Robert Capa’s adage: “If your pictures aren't good enough, you're not close enough.” His photographs are not always close. Close has lots of meanings besides nearby, including intimate, confining, dense, oppressive, and approximate. In our spirit of collaboration, we draw from our diverse range of interests, backgrounds, and artistic talents. Embracing Capa’s mantra, we seek proximity not only physically, but emotionally and intellectually. This exhibition explores different meanings of close.
